Pilates is a unique system of exercises that targets the core postural muscles, by building strength using the deep muscle groups. It rebalances the body and helps develop correct posture and alignment. It strengthens the weaker muscles, while lengthening the stronger, bulkier ones.

Using a series of individual stretches, specific muscles or problems can be isolated and corrected. Many of the exercises involve strengthening the lower back and abdominal muscles, thus creating a strong core centre for the body.

Pilates is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. As it is based on precise, controlled movements, it is suitable for beginners, sports people and those with specific problems such as backache and repetitive strain injury. It can also help in injury rehabilitation,

Pilates will help to increase the body’s strength and to develop correct posture and alignment. The result is a lean, toned body shape.
